KUDO Hackathon Charity Event!

This week, our talented team came together from across Europe to participate in our first two-day Hackathon event. Our aim was to build a mobile app for a local charity, Ups and Downs, to allow them to manage and maintain an online catalogue of costumes and props they own for their productions.

Throughout the day, our teams split into groups to build and develop different sections of the app, before testing and releasing it to individuals’ phones.

On day 2, the KUDO team visited Up & Downs’ storage facility to organise and catalogue their stock using the newly built app. The team then rolled out the app to volunteers’ phones for their future use.

Our newly developed app will allow Ups & Downs to efficiently log new items of clothing whilst allowing them to search through their catalogue to determine what they have in stock and where it is located, ensuring a seamless operation when planning their shows.

Ups & Downs is a parent led theatre group based in the west of Scotland and was started 27 years ago to provide a safe space for people with Down Syndrome and their families to come together and experience the joy of rehearsing and performing a live show.
